Soon after its launch in 1952,
the Navitimer chronograph became a favorite with pilots. In addition
to its ability to measure short times, this wrist instrument is
equipped with a "navigation computer", a circular slide
rule able to handle all airborne navigation calculations, such as
climbing times or fuel consumption rate, and even to convert miles
to nautical miles or kilometers. This first Navitimer was officially
chosen by the AOPA (Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association), encompassing
pilots from around the world. Today, this model has lent its name
to a line of original mechanical chronographs, featuring a wealth
of exclusive technical features and naturally all fitted with the
famous slide rule.

OLD NAVITIMER
|
Over the years, this flyer's favorite has mellowed into what
is not know as the Old Navitimer, having acquired the self winding
mechanism of the BREITLING 13 watch movement and switched to
a watertight case.

NAVITIMER HERITAGE
|

|
|
The Navitimer heritage honors the tradition of the authentic
aviation chronograph. Slightly larger than the original Navitimer,
the Heritage version features a bracelet integrated within
the case, a first for BREITLING.

COSMONAUTE
|
This model was created at a fascinating time, that of the early
days of space exploration. Since night and day are all but meaningless
in space, this dial style prevents possible confusion between
noon and midnight.

BREITLING FIGHTERS
|

|
|
The spirit of the era shines through each detail of this chronograph:
the steel case, a convex optical glass, glare-proofed both
sides and a traditionally crafted dial.

SPATIOGRAPHE
|
In some circumstances, instant, accurate perception of a minute
readout can prove literally vital. The Spatiographe design called
for the development of an original mechanism, the BREITLING
36 mechanical movement with 10-minute totalizer.

MONTBRILLANT
|

|
|
The Montbrillant spirit lives on today. Form its convex crystal
and dial made in the traditional manner to its classic circular
slide rule, a half-century has turned the Montbrillant into
a true signature product.
