Soon after its launch in 1952, the Navitimer chronograph became a favorite with pilots. In addition
to its ability to measure short times, this wrist instrument is
equipped with a "navigation computer", a circular slide
rule able to handle all airborne navigation calculations, such as
climbing times or fuel consumption rate, and even to convert miles
to nautical miles or kilometers. This first Navitimer was officially
chosen by the AOPA (Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association), encompassing
pilots from around the world. Today, this model has lent its name
to a line of original mechanical chronographs, featuring a wealth
of exclusive technical features and naturally all fitted with the
famous slide rule.

The models in the Windrider line have inherited
their unique styling from the Chronomat, the unrivalled leader within
the BREITLING collection. This self-winding chronograph, developed
in conjunction with the Frecce Tricolori, the elite flight
team of the Italian air force - was endowed from the outset with
a series of original technical and aesthetic features that were
to give it an immediately recognizable style. While the rider-tab
rotating bezel is a common denominator within the Windrider line,
each model also meets above average reliability criteria and is
given a finish that is impeccable right down to the slightest detail.
